Honest HVAC Marketing Agency is an American marketing agency that works only with residential and light commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) contractors. It was founded in 2025 by Shaurya Jain and is based in Fort Myers, Florida.[2][3] Its main service combines local search engine optimization, Meta advertising and automated review and referral requests. Website design is offered as a second service.[3]

The agency does not use account managers and does not require contracts or setup fees.[2] It reports results as calls that turned into booked jobs rather than impressions or lead counts, and it backs its main service with a 90-day refund guarantee.[4] In 2026 it published three studies on HVAC reviews, backlinks and local rankings, drawn from more than 17,000 reviews and nearly 1,000 contractors.[3]

History

Honest HVAC Marketing Agency was founded in 2025 by Shaurya Jain, who had worked in digital marketing since 2013.[2] According to the company, Jain started it in response to habits he saw while working on the agency side of the industry: "invented activity in monthly recaps, reporting built on impressions and link counts, and volume treated as a substitute for quality." The word "Honest" in the name refers to being open about the work done and the booked jobs it produces.[2]

The company is registered as a limited liability company with its office at Westlinks Business Park, 12771 Westlinks Drive, Fort Myers.[3] In August and September 2026 it published its first original research, and on 18 September 2026 it issued a press release on the reviews study through ABNewswire.[11] The same year it advertised its first full-time role, a remote Local SEO Specialist reporting to the founder.[14]

Business model

Founder-led accounts

The agency has a team of four to six people with about 40 years of combined experience.[2] There is no account management layer. Jain oversees every account and joins all client calls.[2] The guarantee terms add that if a client's work is handed to someone else without the client's consent, the client can claim the same refund.[4]

Pricing and contracts

Monthly service starts at US$997 for residential and light commercial HVAC contractors. The final price depends on the size of the service area and the condition of the client's website.[5] There are no setup fees and no monthly contracts.[2] Advertising spend is paid directly to Meta on the client's own card, and the agency says it does not mark it up.[6] Website builds are priced separately.[7]

Client ownership of assets

Clients keep ownership of their website, domain, hosting, ad accounts, tracking setup and Google Business Profile. Meta ad accounts are set up in the client's business name, and the agency's access is removed when the work ends.[6][7]

90-day guarantee

The agency promises "more booked jobs in 90 days, or you get every dollar back." A refund covers all agency fees paid in the first 90 days. Ad spend is not refunded because it goes directly to Meta.[4]

The target is set from the client's previous twelve months of booked jobs, adjusted for seasonality, before any payment is taken. A booked job is defined as "work scheduled on your calendar and attended, for a new or lapsed customer, traceable to something we run." Service calls, maintenance agreements and replacements count. Warranty callbacks and existing customers do not.[4]

The guarantee applies only if the client answers the phone during business hours, keeps tracking installed, approves content within five business days, and does not hire another agency for the same channels during the 90 days. Clients claim it by email from day 91, without having to give a reason, and refunds are paid within five business days. Clients keep the website, content, profile work, ad account and tracking even after a refund.[4]

Services

The agency's main service, which it calls "HVAC marketing," bundles three parts: Meta ads, local SEO, and backend automations that ask customers for reviews and referrals. Website design is sold on its own.[3]

Local SEO

The SEO service covers Google Business Profile optimization and map pack visibility, service and location pages, technical fixes such as page speed and structured data, review generation, local citations, link building, and call tracking tied to booked jobs.[5] The agency says local SEO for an HVAC contractor takes three to six months. It fixes foundations in month one, expects call volume to start moving in month two, and says results compound by month six. It rejects "page one in thirty days" promises.[5]

Meta advertising

The agency runs Facebook and Instagram ads that put a specific offer in front of homeowners in a contractor's service area. It describes paid social as "the channel that turns on in days rather than months," and says calls typically start in the first week.[1][6] It asks clients to give a channel three months before judging it.[6]

Website design

Website builds cost US$750 to US$1,500 as a one-time project and take one to three weeks from kickoff to launch.[7] Sites are custom built rather than made from templates, and include schema markup, phone and online booking, call tracking, analytics, and integration with field service software such as Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan.[7]

Services not offered

The agency does not manage Google Ads or grow organic social media. On the lead generation page it says: "We don't sell Google Ads or organic social. We're average at both."[6] It also does not work with commercial-only HVAC companies or offer blog content calendars that are unrelated to ranking work.[5]

Research

Between 31 August and 2 September 2026 the agency published three data studies written by Jain.[8][9][10]

Customer reviews study

The study looked at 17,241 Google reviews of 95 HVAC contractors in Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles and New York City.[8] Its main findings were:

  • 18.4% of positive reviews praised a technician for explaining the problem clearly, nearly double the share that praised speed or punctuality.
  • 60.8% of reviews that quoted a specific price were negative, against a baseline negative rate of 3.5%.
  • Customers seeking a second opinion had a negative rate of 23.7%, about seven times the baseline.
  • 39.3% of positive reviews named a technician, compared with 22.9% of negative reviews.
  • Contractors replied to 79.6% of five-star reviews but only 64% of one-star reviews.[8]
"Contractors tend to compete on being faster or cheaper, and the reviews say customers are rewarding something else entirely."Shaurya Jain, September 2026[11]

The backlinks study examined the link profiles of 45 top-ranking HVAC websites, which together held 430,066 backlinks. The authors classified 1,564 unique linking domains by hand.[3][9] It found that most reported backlinks were spam or low value, and that claims of hundreds of backlinks usually came down to about 50 real links once filtered. About a quarter of businesses held the top map pack spot with no links from manufacturers, news sites or community organizations.[9]

The strongest signal measured was the share of links pointing to pages other than the homepage, which correlated with organic traffic at a Spearman rho of +0.93. Only 36% of top rankers had a manufacturer dealer locator link and 19% were listed in a utility program, both of which the study describes as free. The median top site gained about five real referring domains a month.[9]

Local ranking factors study

This study measured 998 HVAC companies across 46 US city markets, combining Google Business Profile data with Ahrefs link and traffic metrics, and compared each factor with map rank using Spearman correlation.[10]

Correlation with local rank position[10]
FactorCorrelationNote
Review count0.230Top-three listings averaged 2,056 reviews, against 681 for those ranked 21st and below
Dofollow referring domains0.187Top-three listings had about 1.5 times the Domain Rating of lower-ranked ones
Star rating0.037Most contractors sit between 4.3 and 5.0 stars, so ratings barely separate them

The study also found that the average Domain Rating across the sample was 13.2 with a median of 7.0, and that a site's organic traffic did not predict its map pack position. The authors noted that every effect they measured was weaker than common industry claims.[10]

Client results

The agency publishes a local SEO case study for an HVAC contractor in Greenwood, Indiana. Over an eight-week comparison, the contractor's average map ranking position improved from 16.82 to 8.33, and its share of top-three placements across tracked searches rose from 0% to 28.99%.[5] The agency presents this as an example of visibility improving in month two, before it shows up as booked jobs.[5]

Jain is the author of the agency's three research studies.[8] He also runs a YouTube channel that shares marketing strategies and tactics for residential HVAC businesses.[15] The agency's careers page describes him as a founder who "reviews work closely and says so plainly when it is not good enough."[14]
